Danielle
Head of Friday 5 o’clock club
Danielle is one of the key faces behind The Star, helping keep the pub running during busy Friday nights, selected Saturdays and alternate Sundays. Alongside working at St Michael’s Primary and supporting the local community through Rolvenden Tigers and Rockits Sensory, Danielle somehow manages to juggle family life, football, customers and organised chaos with ease. A loyal Arsenal F.C. supporter and lover of music, walking and local wine, Danielle is known for her calm approach, quick thinking and ability to keep everything moving during the busiest shifts.
Emma
Head of Lunchtime Chaos & Children’s Entertainment
Emma is one of the friendly faces behind the busy lunchtime shifts at The Star, working Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. A favourite with families and children, Emma brings warmth, humour and plenty of personality to the pub…even if the occasional glass or ketchup bottle doesn’t always survive the shift intact. Known affectionately as “Dil-Emma”, she helps keep the atmosphere relaxed, welcoming and full of laughter.
Chloe
Head of Looking Glamorous Whilst Carrying Breakfast Plates
Chloe works Friday evenings and Saturday breakfasts at The Star alongside completing her A Levels. Granddaughter of Lynn and daughter of Danielle, Chloe is very much part of the family team and brings a calm, friendly presence to the pub. Known for her love of fashion, quiet confidence and ability to stay organised during busy shifts, Chloe is a popular member of the team with customers and locals alike.
Taryn
Director of Straight Talking & Quiche Protection
Taryn works Tuesday evenings and alternate Wednesdays at The Star and is well known for her straight-talking personality and dry sense of humour. A dog lover with little patience for nonsense, Taryn is the type of person who will always tell it exactly how it is. Whether she’s serving drinks, chatting with customers or attempting to eat her quiche in peace, she brings plenty of personality and sharp wit to the team.
Finn
Head of DIY, Good Tunes & “That’ll Do”
Finn is one of the younger members of the team at The Star, working Sundays as pot wash and helping with DIY and maintenance projects during the week. A keen gardener, guitarist and music lover with an eclectic taste in playlists, Finn is known for his friendly nature and willingness to chat with just about anybody. A loyal Chelsea F.C. supporter, Finn has also earned the affectionate nickname “Mr Slapdash” thanks to his painting efforts around the pub and garden.
Amie
Director of Quiet Chaos & Surprise Karaoke Solos
Amie works evenings throughout the week at The Star and is known for her calm, quiet nature… at least until the karaoke starts. A dancer, dog lover and loyal Arsenal F.C. supporter, Amie somehow balances several jobs whilst always bringing warmth and positivity to the team. Although softly spoken day-to-day, customers quickly discover a very different side of Amie once the microphone appears and the music starts.
Ollie
Head of Looking Far Too Pretty for Pub Work
Ollie works across a variety of shifts at The Star alongside finishing his A Levels. Popular with customers and known for his calm, friendly nature, Ollie has become a well-loved member of the team, helped in no small part by his famously impressive head of hair. A fan of good atmosphere, good pints and excellent customer service, Ollie is also remembered for thoughtfully replacing a gravy boat he once accidentally broke as Yvonne’s Secret Santa gift.
Mick
Head of Washing Up & Sporting Disagreements
Mick is one of the familiar faces behind The Star and is rarely far from the kitchen or washing up area… usually wearing his trademark rubber gloves. A loyal Crystal Palace F.C. supporter, Mick helps keep the pub running behind the scenes whilst also surviving ongoing football rivalries with the rest of the family. Known for his love of programmes like Gold Rush and Storage Hunters, Mick brings humour, hard work and plenty of personality to the team.
Lynn
Director of Fundraising, Football, Proper Pints & Senior Griddle Chef (Yvonne says, when she wants to be)
Lynn is co-owner of The Star and one of the driving forces behind both the pub and the wider village community. A passionate Tottenham Hotspur F.C. supporter and well-known local fundraiser, Lynn is constantly organising events, supporting charities and bringing people together. Known for appreciating a properly poured pint and keeping a close eye on standards behind the bar, she brings energy, humour and strong community spirit to everything she does.
Yvonne
Landlord, Head Chef (Lynn says Monday - Friday) Pastry Chef Saturday & Sunday... Gardener & General Controller of Everything
Yvonne is co-owner of The Star and plays a huge part in the warm, welcoming atmosphere the pub is known for. Whether she is organising events, chatting with customers, supporting local causes or helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, Yvonne is at the centre of daily life at The Star. Known for her kindness, humour and ability to make people feel instantly at home, she brings heart, personality and community spirit to the pub every single day.

Between us, we juggle schools, families, gardening, football rivalries, karaoke, DIY projects, fundraising, cooking and countless pints, all whilst keeping the pub running with plenty of humour along the way.
